Academy Conversion

Dear Parents & Carers,

I am sure you are all aware of how the education landscape has changed over the last few years, which has meant Local Authorities are less involved in running schools and this has led to more schools becoming Academies. This is something all schools are needing to think about to replenish the support that has been lost over time.

The Governors of Little Bloxwich and I are very proud of our school and want to make sure we keep our identity and family feel for generations of children to come. We want to ensure all our children get the best quality of care and education but in a way that still works closely with families and values our children as individuals.

To ensure this happens and the ethos of our school is protected we have been working with St Bartholomew’s CE Multi –Academy Trust on a number of school development priorities. We have taken our time to get to know the trust as we felt it was important they shared the same values as us.

St Bartholomew’s CE Multi- Academy Trust was founded in 2016 as a stand-alone academy. It has steadily grown and now has 10 schools, all of who share our values for education. Their governance arrangements mean we would still keep our own very experienced & committed Governors who would work in partnership with the Trust.

Joining this trust would ensure our ethos, vision and values remain, the name of the school would not change, uniform would not change, our staff will not change and we would still ensure the children get the high quality curriculum and level of teaching they deserve.

So why join St Barts?

  • We will be able to draw on their expertise and support to continue developing our provision in school.
  • We will be working alongside other highly successful and forward thinking schools.
  • We will save money through improved economies of scale when purchasing resources.
  • We will be able to access high quality CPD and training for all staff, which will have an impact upon our provision.

The Governors and I have spent a long time considering this opportunity and have agreed this is the best way forward for our school, our families, our staff and most importantly our children.

I am sure you will have some questions or comments and I would value hearing them, so please just pop in to have a chat, give me a call or email me at etaylor@lit-bloxwich.walsall.sch.uk

The consultation period will be open until Wednesday 22nd October.

Kind Regards
